Weekly recipe roundup 15
The weekly recipe roundup 15 has rolled around and unfortunately, is woefully empty. This does not mean I have not baked anything, but I wasn’t 100% happy with the outcome.
I baked another round of focaccia this week. This also, did not last long. Next time that I make this, I will endeavour to take some pictures and post the recipe. It produces a very delicious result and is easy to make!
Lemon and gin Bundt cake
The lemon and gin Bundt was going to be my recipe for the week. While it looked and tasted good, it didn’t seem quite right. This gives me another chance to make it again and refine the recipe a bit more to my liking. I have written the recipe and it is ready to publish – I will feel better after making it again.
Unbeknownst to me, Friday the 9th of February dwas National Pizza Day. Long has pizza been a favourite of mine and I had no clue this day existed. Obviously, I felt bad when I found out late in the evening and decided to throw one together quickly. The shops had closed, so I had to make do with a pizza sans cheese – quite the disaster. Anyway, I used a new type of flour that I had come across from the Isle of White. The dough turned out pretty well, although I reckon it needed a bit more proving time. Evidently, I was getting impatient for pizza. I put on the pizza sauce that I had made, capers, sweet peppers, jalapenos, bacon and egg. The result tasted very good, although it might not be the standard round pizza you recognise!
Cinnamon and raisin oat cookies
I made these on Saturday as I was at a loose end, and was very happy with the outcome. Cookies aren’t ‘my thing’ and as result have not made them before, but these may sway me. I will definitely practice more with them to get a consistent result. After that, I will get the recipe written up and posted.
